Here at South Bowl, we have a magnificent wood burning pizza oven! Just biting into one of these pizzas’ leaves you wondering why it tastes so much better than any other pizza! Well, these wood burning ovens heat and bake better and quicker than just any old oven. Heat radiates evenly across the dome, while the floor is a bit cooler. This creates a crunchy crust with a fluffy/soft inside and a delicious smoky flavor! High temperatures produce an incredible taste and look. This kind of pizza is way out of normal pizzas’ league! Plus, here at South Bowl we have the amazing Jenny Choplin preparing our pizzas’. (They are guaranteed delicious!) Some incredibly yummy pizzas’ of ours include the amazing ‘Shroomin pizza; Smoked Salmon Pizza; and Sergeant Pepper! So come on down and check these bad boys out! Though the staples on our menu are not to be overlooked, the new seasonal additions prove yet again that we are not your average bowling alley!
Some of our new Summer additions include:
Buffalo Chicken Steamed Buns with shredded chicken, blue cheese, pickled onion and celery ribbons.
Beet and Potato Salad with goat cheese, haricot vert, radicchio and toasted almonds in a red wine vinaigrette.
Korean Fried Chicken Tacos with kimchi and Asian slaw on a flour tortilla.
“The Duck Abides” BBQ shredded duck confit with apple and jalapeno slaw on a snowflake roll.
Our wood oven pizza menu got a mini makeover as well. New summer additions include:
Smoked Salmon with crème fraice, fior di latte, mozzarella, smoked salmon, dill and everything bagel spice.
Dante’s Inferno, our signature margherita pizza with cherry peppers, pepperoni and chili oil.
The Don, red sauce, mozzarella, roasted red peppers, garlic and sweet Italian sausage.
New to the beverage menu are our “in season” cocktails and draft beer rotation.
Sip on these Summer faves on our outdoor roof deck:
South Philly Infusion with Jim Beam honey infused with apricot and ginger served over ice and topped with club soda and a dash of bitters.
The Big Ginger with 2 Gingers Irish Whiskey, gingerle, and a squeeze of fresh lemon and lime.
Sound good? You know what’s better? All of these dishes are available right on your bowling lane. You can sit and eat at a table anywhere – we prefer a little fun in between bites!
